The Hermitage Palace

The Hermitage Palace, the winter home of the Russian Imperial Family, is a magnificent green and white structure.  It was this palace that the revolutionaries stormed in October of 1917.

The palace is now the largest art museum in the world, filled with the over 3 million works of art. If one were to spend only 5 seconds viewing each item in the collection you would need 10 years to view it all!

The current government has restored the Imperial Throne Room to look as it would have when the Tsar ruled Russia.  The size alone drives home the power and prestige of the Tsar.  Impressive.
