We are having a traditional Thanksgiving. The untraditional part is that everything for the side dishes came from our stockpile.
Turkey was on sale at 33 cents per pound. At that price I always buy a big one and freeze the leftovers. You can't find meat any cheaper.
The bones become broth to be used in recipes. Much cheaper than commercial broth.
Stuffing, cranberry sauce, green beans all came from my salvage shopping stockpile. The yams I bought last week for 33cents a pound.
The pumpkin pie was made from last year's frozen pumpkin and salvage evaporated milk.
The result, a feast with leftovers for about $10.00!
Happy Thanksgiving and gobble til you wobble! :)
