1. Baking bread, pretzel bites and English muffins at home instead of buying them.
2. Eating from the stockpile almost exclusively. January is not a great month for sales.
3. Being serious about not wasting leftovers.
4. Made a large batch of homemade laundry detergent for the animal shelter.
5. Using homemade roux with stock rather than canned cream soup for recipes.
6. Discovering that the electronic coupon can be used four times but the same paper coupon only once. Guess what we use.
7. Sent a new prescription to Giant Eagle and earned $15 in free groceries.
8. I used my food grinder to grind ham and chicken to make hamloaf. Much cheaper than buying them pre ground.
9. Used pasta for tuna casserole. Cheaper than egg noodles.
This was a Suzy Homemaker month. Just lots of small things. But they do add up.
